Resilient Flooring Care & Maintenance
Resilient vinyl floors are a breeze to maintain. Resistant to scratching, denting, and water damage, they simply need periodic sweeping to remove dirt and grit and cleanup to keep them looking beautiful for years to come.
Protect Your investment
You can protect your resilient floor by following these simple and easy guidelines.
- Support furniture with wide-bearing, non-staining floor protectors.
- Close your curtains or blinds where extreme sunlight hits the floor. A combination of heat and sunlight causes most home furnishings, including resilient floors, to fade or discolor over time.
- Use a doormat outside each entrance to your home to prevent dirt, sand, grit, and other substances such as oil, asphalt, and driveway sealer from being tracked onto your floor. Use non-staining mats on your floor. Do not put latex-backed or coco-fiber mats on your floor because they will stain or damage the surface.
Sweep Frequently
Use a broom or vacuum with a soft floor attachment frequently to remove dirt and dust from your floors. Dirt that accumulates on the floor can scratch the vinyl over time and dull its surface.
Damp Mop as Needed
Make sure to wipe spills promptly. Clean floors weekly or as needed with a damp mop or clean, damp cloth using a cleaner approved for vinyl floors, we can recommend-just ask your sales associate for guidance. Resilient-vinyl floors can be slippery when wet, so use caution when walking on them after mopping.
